Applying machine learning and other computational methods, I am currently developing data-driven individualised human heart models using high-resolution recordings of human atrial tissue cultures.

In autumn 2020, for my PhD training, I joined the applied mathematics research group of Prof. Dr. Hans Dierckx, Mathematics of Cardiac Arrhythmias, at KU Leuven in Belgium and the Laboratory of Experimental Cardiology of Dr. Daniël Pijnappels at Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands.
I obtained my Master of Science in Theoretical Physics at the Institute for Computational Plasma Physics at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rainer Grauer and Dr. Jürgen Dreher. There, in silico, I localised defects in idealised heart muscle tissue from intra-cardiac electrograms using the adjoint state method.
